Language and Literacy Curriculum
Description:In this course, students examine the development of children’s language and early literacy skills for native English speakers as well as English Language Learners. Focus is on techniques and strategies that support children’s language acquisition and literacy skills using age-appropriate activities and methods. Portions of instruction may be offered online; may also be offered fully online.
Recommended Preparation:Completion of or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 1A

 This course allows students to complete two electives in one semester. Also enroll in ECED82 to complete the 6 unit elective requirement. HYBRID COURSE: This hybrid class is taught in-person and online using CANVAS: This course meets in-person on Mondays 8-9:15pm, with students completing remaining learning materials via Canvas asynchronously online throughout the rest of the week. Students may also be making in-person visits to local agencies outside of class time. Click on the Lobo Apps link on the MPC website to access Canvas, your MPC e-mail, and other online tools. Visit the Canvas Help Desk for help accessing your online course. Students must have regular access to a computer with high-speed Internet and be familiar with using the Internet.
