Description: | This course introduces students to concepts and issues related to teaching in today's diverse schools. It examines assumptions about teaching and learning, as well as learning theory and curriculum. It covers the historical and philosophical foundations of the American educational system and contemporary K-12 education issues such as California’s content standards and teacher performance standards. | This course introduces students to concepts and issues related to teaching diverse learners in today’s contemporary schools, Kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12). Students are required to complete 48 hours of field work in a K-12 public school classroom. ONLINE COURSE: This course is taught using Canvas.
