Description: | This course introduces students to the critical study of the representation and construction of American culture in film. It examines the ways in which ideologies are conveyed through popular film and how technological, industrial, and aesthetic factors affect screen content. It also examines how diverse images of ethnicity, class, and gender are portrayed in film and explores the perspectives and contributions of diverse cultural groups to American film. |
