Beginning Algebra
Description:This course includes an introduction to basic algebraic principles, simple linear equations, positive and negative numbers, the four basic arithmetic operations using monomials and polynomials, literal equations, reading and constructing graphs, systems of linear equations, applications of principles to verbal problems, factoring, fractions and equations containing fractions, square roots and radicals, quadratic equations, and ratios and proportion. Also offered online.
Prerequisites:Qualifying math assessment results or MATH 351 or an equivalent course from an accredited college
Recommended Preparation:Elig for ENGL 111 & 112 or ENSL 110 & 155
Repeatability:May be repeated once if grade was D or F.

 ONLINE COURSE. In order for students to succeed in this course, students are strongly encouraged to attend a drop-in orientation on Sunday, June 9th, 2019, 2:00pm-5:00pm, PS 207. If you have a laptop, please bring it to the orientation so you can get registered at MyMathLab. We will also have laptops available to use during the orientation. While this is an online course, this is not a self-paced course. Students must have access to a reliable computer and be familiar with using the Internet. Students will be required to complete scheduled exams on campus.
