Description:This course offers an introduction to the role of African Americans in the development of the United States from the country's beginnings until 1865. Emphasis is placed on their historical and cultural contributions to life in the United States as well as their socioeconomic and sociopolitical status. Also offered as History 24; credit may be earned only once. Portions of instruction may be offered online; may also be offered fully online.
