The Early Renaissance (1350-1520) |
Description: | The course examines the changes in Western life and thought that resulted from the rediscovery of the classical age of Greece and Rome. It features many of the places, figures, and events that define the Renaissance, including Florence, the Medici, the growth of trade and cities, new music, literature, art and philosophy, Machiavelli, the Hundred Years War, Chaucer, and the beginnings of the great art of the Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael. Not open to students with credit in GENT 21. |
