Description: | This course introduces the ancient art of lost-wax casting for jewelry and small-scale metal art objects. Through historical and contemporary examples, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, students become familiar with the art of casting. Course emphasis are on personal design exploration, wax model construction, casting and finishing techniques, and studio maintenance and safe practices in the studio. |
